HERSC-FREE '96: Financing Residential Energy Efficiency
November 6-9, 1996
Hilton Palacio del Rio, 200 South Alamo Street, San Antonio, Texas.
Now in its fourth year, the Home Energy Rating Systems Council's Financing
Residential Energy Efficiency Conference (HERSC-FREE '96) provides a critical
national forum for the varied groups engaged in linking home energy performance
and energy-efficiency financing. The years of hard work are beginning to
yield results and many of the difficult pieces are now in place. The goal
of placing homeownership within the reach of more Americans by building,
selling and retrofitting more energy-efficient homes is closer than ever
before.
Homes offering greater comfort, affordability and energy efficiency that
can be paid for over the life of the mortgage by utility bill savings is
an idea whose time has come. Be in San Antonio this November to take part
in the next challenge: Marketing this great idea!
HERSC-FREE '96 tutorials and sessions are all geared to equipping participants
with the information and training they need to help launch effective HERS
and energy-efficiency financing (EEF) programs in their
respective communities. "Taking it to the Street" is about getting
the word out to consumers that EEF can be a vehicle to affordable homeownership.
To reach consumers with that message, a network must be in place among lenders,
appraisers, weatherization specialists, utility companies, government agencies,
HERS providers, real estate professionals, builders and others who have
direct links to both prospective homeowners and those seeking to improve
their existing home.
The Conference will present the most effective approaches to establishing,
implementing, marketing and accessing EEF programs.
