Record Oil Output In China For First Month Of Year

_________________

BEIJING - XINHUA via Individual Inc. : China is off to a good start this year in oil and gas production with average daily oil and gas output of 389,500 tons and 46.15 million cu m respectively in the first month, a notable increase over the same period of last year.

China has set a goal of producing 142 million tons of crude oil this year, meaning average daily output of 389,000 tons, higher than the 1996 figure.

The first month's progress indicates a promising year in oil production, said a senior official with the China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), who noted that even aging oilfields in east China, except for the Liaohe Oil Field which suffered from a heavy snowstorm in January, met production targets.

The Shengli and Jilin fields exceeded state-set monthly targets by 1,051 tons and 118 tons, respectively.

Daqing, the country's leading oilfield, produced 153,400 tons of crude oil daily on average for January, higher than the

desired daily target for the year.

Oil production in the Bohai Bay area, which has seen an overall decline in output in recent years, is picking up again. The Shengli Oilfield in the area had an average daily crude output of 78,000 tons in January, or more than 1,000 tons above the desired target.

In western China, progress was also reported. The Tarim, Turpan-Hami and Qinghai fields had all had higher outputs than for the same period of the previous year.

In addition, a bottleneck in transport that was holding up oil production in the area, has been eased, and 772,400 tons of oil was moved in the first month of the year.

The country has put an increasing number of oilwells into production from the beginning of the year, with a total number by the end of January of 64,150, providing a solid foundation for oil production this year.

Why Be Organized?

_________________

You will feel more in control - reducing the stress that unchecked clutter in your home or office produces.

You will have more room - A reorganization of almost any drawer, closet, room or office produces more space even if

you eliminate nothing.

You will be able to find something when you want it - saving endless time spent looking for keys, files, telephone

numbers, or any other item which seems to disappear just when we need it the most.

You will be making a favorable impression - on the people around you. Your colleagues, clients, friends and family will

admire your ability to be on time, fulfill your commitments and maintain order.

You will save money - by not having to buy a second of something because you couldn't find, or didn't remember you

had, the first and you won't be charged for appointments you missed.

It's being nice to yourself.

CAP Starts Successful Bicycle Swap.

_________________

I should have kept the article but in a recent issue of Reader's Digest detailed the successful origination of a Bicycle Swap in, I believe, a midsize town in Washington State.

The idea is that used bicycles were donated to the CAP, repaired, painted a uniform color and put back out on the streets for the free use of the towns people.

If I recall correctly there were a few stolen but the donations were so overwhelming that the supply outstripped the demand, so to speak.

Try it. You will get some good PR for your organization.
