BUYER'S CHOICE GUARANTEED
ENERGY USE
PROGRAM
__________________________
GreenStone Industries, the country's largest manufacturer of cellulose insulation, has introduced an innovative new program called Buyer's Choice, designed to promote more marketable, desirable and profitable homes. The program guarantees that new home buyers' heating and cooling costs will not exceed a pre-set amount-and will refund 100% of the difference if they do. Buyer's Choice homes also qualify for energy efficient financing that enables home buyers to purchase more expensive homes with lower down payments, reduced interest rates or both.
Here's how the program works:
* Buyer's Choice homes are built to stringent specifications, reducing energy loss through tighter construction and better insulation, exceeding the new Model Energy Code at virtually no additional cost. As a result, the homes may require smaller equipment for heating and cooling, which in turn costs less to operate;
* Once a Buyer's Choice home has been constructed, a measurement of air infiltration and duct leakage is taken, and a Buyer's Choice consultant sets the guaranteed energy usage level. The consultant also provides additional quality control assurance that materials and construction specifications have been satisfied in order to provide long term, continuing energy savings;
* GreenStone is so positive that this will result in a more efficient home, for two one-year periods of occupancy, the original homeowner is guaranteed that the energy required to maintain 70 degrees Fahrenheit during the heating season and75 degrees Fahrenheit during cooling season will not exceed guaranteed usage.
Buyer's Choice homebuyers also qualify for Energy Efficient Mortgages. Under this program, homes are given an energy efficiency rating on the national scale developed by National Home Energy Rating System Council and the United States Department of Energy. This rating gives appraisers guidelines that enable them to increase the value of the buyer's mortgage based on the utility savings of a new energy efficient home as compared to the average new home.
"Cellulose insulation offers home builders and buyers significant energy savings that no other product can match," points
out Eric Oganesoff, CEO of GreenStone Industries. "The combination of lower energy bills, low installation costs, and theopportunity to offer something positive to the environment makes cellulose insulation a major selling point for new
homes."
GreenStone also guarantees that the insulation installed in a Buyer's Choice home will retain its thermal resistance, fire
retardant and non-corrosive characteristics; provide sound control; and continue to meet current national building code standards for the life of the structure.
The R-Pro® insulation used to construct Buyer's Choice homes is recognized as a "green" product because it consists of
more than 80% recycled materials, reducing pressure on overloaded landfills; takes little energy to manufacture; and offers superior performance when compared with other forms of insulation.

Participate in an online discussion of indoor air quality. Trane will be sponsoring an online panel discussion on Indoor Air Quality Wednesday, June 5, at noon EST. The discussion will take place on FacilitiesNet, an online electric information resource for facilities managers.
Speakers for the one-hour event include: Gregory A. Krauss, a partner with Carr Goodson Lee & Warner. Mr. Krauss represented the owners of the EPA headquarters building at Waterside Mall, which was the focus of a recent IAQ court case.
Jay Kirihara, an IAQ consultant, who peer-reviewed EPA's "Building Air Quality" and "IAQ Tools for Schools" manuals.
